Hey there! My name is Shayna and I'm a Provisional Registered Graphic Designer (RGD) based in Cobourg, Ontario.
As an in-house designer, I specialize in accessible design, marketing, branding and advertising for municipal government. Working in a small but mighty Communications team, my professional experience ranges from corporate communications, media relations and copywriting to publication design, branding, marketing and website management.
I have also dabbled in some freelance design work, creating brand identities, websites, and promotional design materials for local businesses in a variety of sectors.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Design with Distinction from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and a Digital Media Skills Certificate from OCAD University. I have also completed many hours of additional training focused on accessible design and inclusive writing for the web.
I've been honoured to receive awards for my design work from the Hermes Creative Awards, Marcom Awards and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Toronto.
Outside of my professional work, I'm also a proud cat mom, an avid local traveller, a music lover and an amateur photographer.
